Rabastan is christmas shopping. In Hogsmeade he reaches for the same book Hermione does. She allows him to have it due to fear. However he becomes obsessed with the Gryffindor girl in a green sweater and red scarf. A month later he takes her. He has forgotten one fact: Roses have thorns and Hermione is particularly sharp.
